Sticky Notes | Your QuickBooks Is a Leads Goldmine. You Just Forgot About It...
Every contractor chases new leads.
Almost none talk to the 2,000 people already in their QuickBooks. (Ouchies, I felt that slap in the face too...)
Think about it: You've got years of customer data. | People who already know you. | Trust you. | Have paid you before. | AndYETyou're out here burning cash on Facebook ads to total strangers. (there's another issue there we'll save for another day)
STICKY NOTE| Write this one down with a big ole sharpie
Database reactivation costs nothing, but time. | It Produces leads immediately. | It costs you 5x more money to win a new customer than reactivate an old one. (Ouchies again, like granny says, Clutch My Pearls!) 😳
Real proof:A contractor client we have ran a simple database reactivation campaign.
Day one | 5 new leads. From people who already knew them, trusted them, had paid them before. No ad spend. No cold outreach. Just a well-crafted message to a warm audience.
Day two | 7 more leds. From people who already knew them, paid them before, simply reminded they exist as a responsive contractor. No paid ad spend, No cold emails. Just a well-written message to your existing warm audience (Quickbooks, Invoices, Any List You Have On File)
If you're keeping count at home thats 12, count them, 12 New Leads, Number TWELVE! Ah, ah ah ah (in our best Count von Count from Sesame Street voice)you know you heard it...And, Got Em' For Free...
Here's how to do it TODAY:
1.Export your past customer list
QuickBooks, Jobber, wherever you track jobs. Get the names, phone numbers, emails.
2.Write one simple message
"Hey [Name], it's [Your Name] from [Company]. We worked together on [job type] a while back. We have some availability coming up and wanted to reach out to past customers first. Any projects on the horizon?"
3.Send it via text or email
Personal tone. | No pitch. | No pressure. | Just checking in.
4.That's it
That's the campaign.
Sticky note question:
"If I sent one message to every customer I've worked with in the last 3 years, what would happen?"Now Write that down.Ask yourself yet again, one message, every customer, last 3 years. (aka. database reactivation)
Then go do it.
